REST HAVEN NURSING
HOME EXPANSION

The Province of Manitoba recently announced that Steinbach would be getting 83 additional personal care home beds through a significant expansion at Rest Haven Nursing Home. The 60 bed facility will more than double to a total of 143 beds.

These additional beds are urgently needed as the wait list for placement is long, and all too often our seniors are having to move far away from family and friends when they need personal care home support.

The current 60 bed facility will more
than double to a total of 143 beds

HOSPICE CARE FACILITY

Bethesda Foundation has a vision to provide enhanced palliative care services to Steinbach and area. We want to create a peaceful, home-like environment, with private rooms for patient dignity, and space for families to gather. The population over the age of 75 in Steinbach and area is expected to grow by nearly 25% in the next four years. Some of these residents will be in need of acute or long-term palliative care. This type of care is currently provided by the regional hospital, and we believe using a different mix of staff and volunteers there would be some significant cost savings.

Benefits include:

  • Private rooms for patient dignity
  • Peaceful, comfortable environment
  • Space for family meetings and activities
  • Less costly than hospital stay
  • More acute care hospital beds become available
