2026 GIFTS OF LIGHT CAMPAIGN

The season has arrived where you can give Gifts of Light to those who are spending time in the hospital over the holidays, and for those visiting them. Having the hospital grounds lit up with thousands of colorful lights sends a wonderful message of hope and healing during the holiday season. You can be that “hope” for someone this year. We ask that you thoughtfully consider being part of the 2026 Gifts of Light event.

Sponsor a tree in memory of a loved one who has passed.  Or sponsor a tree in the name of your children, your grandchildren, or make it a family event!  i.e. “This tree sponsored by the ??? family.”

This is also a great opportunity to honor and recognize the many health care workers – the kitchen staff, cleaning staff, doctors, nurses, etc.  They take care of our community during a time in our lives when we feel most vulnerable.  Let’s celebrate them in a BIG way this year!!  Sponsor a tree in honor of someone you know who works in healthcare.  Or sponsor a tree with a message of hope to ALL healthcare workers.

Imagine the hospital grounds illuminated with thousands of vibrant lights, creating a beacon of hope and healing during this special time of year.  Together, we have the power to touch the lives of those who need it most.

As a sponsor you will receive the following:

  • Your name, or your loved one’s name, or a general message of hope, placed on a sign beside your tree. Larger sponsors will receive larger signs.
  • Your name included on the list of Gifts of Light Sponsors on the Foundation’s website
  • A charitable donation receipt issued for the entire amount of your contribution to The Bethesda Foundation.

We invite you and the rest of the community to join us as we light up the hospital grounds on Sunday, November 29, from 4-6pm.  There will be refreshments and activities for the whole family.  Everyone is welcome!

SPONSOR OPPORTUNITIES

Crystal sponsor opportunities ($5000) 

  • light up the fountain area located in the Healing Garden
  • light up the large centre pergola located in the Healing Garden
  • light up the entire front of the Emergency Department
  • large indoor trees in the hospital (three opportunities)
  • various other significant landmarks throughout the hospital grounds

Diamond sponsor opportunities ($3000)

  • light up various pergolas located in the Healing Garden
  • 35 ft. large evergreens located outside the Community Health Services building
  • 35 ft. large evergreens located outside Bethesda Place
  • various notable outdoor locations throughout the hospital grounds 

Emerald sponsor opportunities ($2000):

  • 20-25 ft. large in-ground trees are lit on the grounds with thousands of beautiful multi-coloured lights (multiple sponsors) 

Sapphire sponsor opportunities ($1250):

  • 8-10 ft. trees are lit on the grounds in beautiful multi-coloured lights (multiple opportunities)

Pearl sponsor opportunities ($600):

  • 6-8 ft. trees are lit on the grounds in beautiful multi-coloured lights (multiple sponsors) 

Ruby sponsor opportunities ($125):

  • Little red trees hung along Main St. and Hwy 12 

USE OF FUNDS

For many years, generous individuals and businesses like you have supported the Bethesda Foundation in improving health care facilities in our community. Your gifts have helped fund major capital projects, including the new Surgery Department, the expanded medicine ward, the CancerCare Centre, the Crisis Stabilization Unit, the expanded Emergency Department, the Bethesda Primary Care Centre, and the expansion of Rest Haven Personal Care Home, as well as specialized equipment for the Bethesda Regional Health Centre. The refurbished Healing Garden offers a place where natural beauty inspires rest and healing for all who pass through.

This holiday season, we are asking for your generosity in support of our Gifts of Light campaign, which will light up the grounds of Bethesda Regional Health Centre and Bethesda Place Personal Care Home. Your donation will also contribute to future projects that continue to strengthen health care in our region.
